Free support groups – no referral needed

Going through a difficult time and need someone to talk to?

Do you feel alone with your problems and wish you could put your feelings into words? Would it help to be listened to by ordinary people, with their own challenges, who could relate to what you're going through?

We offer a safe and neutral space for conversations – open to anyone who's going through a hard time. The service is free for everyone over 18, and you don't need a referral to join.

Each group consists of 6–8 participants who meet on a regular basis. They share how they're doing and support each other in getting better. A professional facilitator helps the group get started, supplies good conversation tools, and offers regular follow-ups along the way.

Our group participants report that being part of a group makes them feel less alone and more "normal." Many say they've become more confident and more open about how they really feel. Some also mention feeling more calm in their day-to-day life and having a better quality of life. When you feel better about yourself, you often find it easier to manage work, studies, and family life, too.

Get in touch for an informal chat so we can tell you more about how the groups work, answer your questions, and hear what you need. You can email us at post@linktromso.no or call 413 33 186.

"Living life has become easier since I joined the group. It helps to know that I have the others whenever the dark thoughts arrive. I don't feel the same anxiety today as I used to."

The goals of our service:

  • To help local residents take care of themselves and build resilience
A safe and neutral space for conversation, where participants can strengthen themselves within a community and handle the ups and downs of everyday life better.
  • To reduce loneliness and social isolation
Belonging to a small group of people with similar experiences helps reduce the feeling of being alone in your struggles. Honest and open conversations make people feel less different or "abnormal", which in turn reduces the risk of isolation and isolating.
  • To support independent and active citizens
54% of participants are able to stay in or return to work or studies thanks to the process of being in and the support of the group. 44% become more socially active.
