Joining a support group should become a natural and common way of dealing with life's challenges.
Our Vision
Our work is based on a belief in people's inner strengths and the value of working on one's own challenges within a supportive community. Our vision is that joining a support group should become a natural and common way of dealing with life's challenges.
Values
Openness: We emphasise kindness and the importance of recognising that experiencing life challenges is a normal part of being human.
Responsibility: We believe each person has responsibility for their own life situation and health, and for finding ways to live with, manage, and possibly resolve their challenges. Taking responsibility can just as well mean asking for help when you need it as trying to manage things on your own.
Empowerment: We believe that people have inner resources and can take ownership of their own situation and challenges. We believe that interaction between participants in support groups can lead to greater self-awareness, and can help each person discover personal strengths that can improve their quality of life.
Diversity: We value differences and mutual learning.
Trust: We believe it is important to build trust, to give trust, and to have the courage to show trust.
Long-term perspective: We aim for long-term impact by spreading knowledge that can influence people's attitudes toward self-help and self-help strategies, both individually and in groups.
